Information we collect
We collect the parent or caregiver email, an optional student display name, the student’s age group, state, optional city, selected course, required consent record, optional marketing preference, account status, course progress, module assessment scores, and end-of-course evaluation responses. Evaluation responses include three 1–5 ratings, one intended action, and an optional written comment. We store the score and number of questions for the first opening and final check in each module, but not the student’s individual answers. Passwords are stored only in protected hashed form and cannot be viewed by the course owner.
Information we do not request
We do not request a street address, ZIP code, school, precise location, bank-card number, bank-account number, Social Security number, students’ private worksheet answers, or their individual assessment responses. Private module reflections are not included in the course evaluation. Students should not enter sensitive financial information anywhere in the course, including optional comments.
Why we use information
We use account information to provide access, remember progress, protect accounts, support students, issue certificates, create the student’s learning-progress overview, improve course quality, understand intended next steps, and send necessary course communications. City and state are used for course analysis and aggregate audience statistics. We do not use them to track a student’s precise location.
Optional communications
Marketing consent is separate and optional. A parent, caregiver, or adult student may unsubscribe at any time. Refusing marketing does not affect course access.
Sharing and sale
We do not sell the student or parent database. Service providers may process limited information only when necessary to operate the website, database, security, or email delivery.
Choices and requests
The registered parent, caregiver, or adult student may request access, correction, deletion, or removal of optional marketing consent. Students can update a submitted course evaluation from the course completion page. Some records may need to be retained for security, transactions, legal obligations, or resolving disputes.
Minors
The course is not offered to children under 13. For students ages 13–17, registration and account recovery use a parent or caregiver’s email.
This working policy must be completed with the business name, privacy contact, retention periods, service providers, and jurisdiction-specific notices before paid public enrollment begins.
